The Tulane Green Wave is making some noise in the transfer portal. Earlier today, the program landed former Alabama wide receiver Shazz Preston, a former top 50 recruit. They added another talented wide receiver when former USC Trojan wide receiver Mario Willaims announced he was joining the program.

Williams has spent the last two seasons catching passes from Caleb Williams. In 2022, he was with Oklahoma and had 40 receptions for 631 receiving yards and five touchdowns. After following Williams to USC, he had 29 receptions for 305 yards and two touchdowns. He will now bring his talents to the Green Wave and hopes to form a formidable one-two punch with Preston in 2024. While many believe the transfer portal is only for the larger programs, Tulane is showing that they can be players in the transfer portal, too.
The schedule for the program is what you would expect out of a Group of 5 school. However, in the non-conference schedule, the Green Wave will travel to Oklahoma to take on the Sooners. This is a huge opportunity for the program to get a quality win to help bolster their postseason resume. If the program can get an early season win against an SEC team, the rest of the country will have to take notice.
Could the program go undefeated in 2024? Outside of the Oklahoma matchup, the team should be favored in all of their games.
